Position Summary

The Vice President of Finance will lead the transformation of our financial infrastructure on a global scale. This role demands an executive who combines deep international corporate finance expertise with a technology-forward mindset. You will structure, organize, and scale a lean finance function. Proficiency in — or strong proactive openness to — integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation tools into finance operations is essential. You will manage complex intercompany transactions across multiple jurisdictions and align financial strategy with global compliance. Professional proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build and Structure the Finance Function

  • Design the global finance organizational architecture: recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier talent.

  • Modernize the financial technology stack: audit, select, and deploy AI-enabled ERP modules, automated reconciliation, and predictive forecasting tools.

  • Establish robust internal controls, SOPs, and globally aligned accounting policies.

2. Manage Global Intercompany Transactions

  • Oversee complex transfer pricing frameworks and documentation across international subsidiaries.

  • Manage foreign exchange exposure through hedging strategies and global cash-pooling optimization.

  • Ensure cross-border tax compliance with external advisors: nexus management and international tax structuring.

3. Drive AI and Automation Integration

  • Lead the transition from manual workflows to AI-assisted processes for AP, AR, and monthly close cycles.

  • Deploy predictive analytics and AI-powered BI for revenue forecasting, scenario planning, and variance analysis.

  • Upskill the finance team in prompt engineering, data analytics, and automation, fostering a culture of technology adoption.

4. Lead Financial Strategy and Reporting

  • Present monthly and annual financial statements, KPI dashboards, and materials for the executive team, board, and investors.

  • Oversee budgeting, rolling forecasts, and capital allocation models for international expansion and product development.

  • Support corporate development: financial modeling, due diligence, and integration for fundraising and M&A.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role (VP, Director, or Head of Finance) within a VC/PE-backed SaaS or technology company.

  • Proven track record of managing finances across multiple international entities, currencies, and transfer pricing environments.

  • Demonstrated success building or restructuring a finance department during high growth.

  • Advanced knowledge of modern global ERPs (NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics 365) and financial consolidation systems.

  • Experience with — or readiness to adopt — AI/automation: automated ledger matching, LLM-based financial search, data pipelines, OCR expense capture.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

  • CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred.

  • Change-oriented leader: adaptable, embraces disruptive technologies, and mobilizes teams through transformation.

  • Strategic communicator: translates complex financial data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset focused on scalability, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with approximately two (2) days per month of office presence. Our office is located in Laval and will be relocating to Mirabel in the near future; the successful candidate must be able to commute to both locations during the transition.

Compensation: Annual salary ranges from $170,000 to $185,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
